  • It's Not Always About Djent, Chunk & Dun-Dun-DUN (Steve Morse Band)

EDIT: I've replaced the clip with a -14LUFS version due to Soundcloud's crap system.

Sometimes it's about 80's spankin' sparkly clean chorused Strat, singing-soaring lines, harmonized leads and greasy solos.

This is what I've been working on for a while:

Steve Morse Band's "The Road Home" off of the "High Tension Wires" album from 1989 (I had already done "Highland Wedding" years ago; which I will re-do).

He used a guitar synth for a lot of the lines, but I used a combo of neck pickup + spank Strat.

He also used a 12-string; I used a spanky Strat doubletracked with pickup in position 4 & 5.

    Yes, Eventide Harmonizer.

Had to build the drums on a MIDI piano roll... beat by beat.

No bass... yet. And missing the guitar synth solo.

Anyways, it's almost there - have yet to do some stuff:

It might be better if you added some Dunt Dunt Dunt parts...

    Otherwise, very nice!
The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.
