  • Have you looked at the major scale this way?

Parts of my guitar acumen are you might say (OK you WOULD say) limited. So yesterday I sat down at the beginning: our old friend the major scale. Now, fret board knowledge is also a gaping puss filled wound around my house so no time like the present. I created this quite by accident but I like how it octaves back and forth and is also a great string skipping exercise. Plus, economy of motion is off the chart here. If you start with your ring finger the next two notes fall right into place. (Key=G) Try way down low in C and dig all the 0's!

Of course half of you probably think, "who didn't already know that?" To which I reply, "me." So I'm taking a key at a time and really burn those key signatures into my brain along with the notes on the rosewood. ( I don't have any maple fret boards. I hear Fender and others move the notes around on those so you have to re-lean everything.)
