    basslines and pre-amp power question

I have a couple of active SD basslines pickups - 9V power, currently passive controls (Jazz bass config) but am swapping out for a parametric pre-amp, which also needs 9V power. Do I use same battery to power both the pickups and the pre-amp or is it best they each have separate 9V PP3 power...

    PRS McCarty Wiring

Does anyone have a decent schematic for the PRS McCarty wiring, not the one from the prs website which is very incomplete, or the one from Guitarelectronics.com, which is a different circuit, or the SD schematic one for 2 hb's, one vol, one push-pull pot, which will only split the bridge pup coil?

Replacements for 'Squier by Fender' strat pups

I just got this cheap Squier strat body off ebay for a self-mutilation project, it comes with the stock 'squier by fender' pickups. I'm getting a strat replica neck to bolt on, but am wondering if it's worht hanging onto these pups, they look cheap and nasty but I have no chance to hear them...

    Tele wiring question

Quick question: MIM tele, fitted with tbx tone control, std tele pickups. I have a mini toggle switch (on-on-on type) I want to wire in to switch from series to parallel. Can someone advise on the wiring? Is there anything I can do with the switch's 3rd position, or shall i just leave it...

    Wiring Q on Series/cut/parallel schematic

I got some new puppies for my epi dot and rewired according to the sd schematic; http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/schematics/2hum_2vol_2tone_3way-w-ssp.html using a 3-way dpdt on-on-on switch. It works, but does it all work? With the back pup selected, there is no difference between parallel...

    making pup changes easier...

While ripping out the stock pups from my Epi 335 dot, I thought what a simple but effective idea that they bothered to connect the pups to the rest of the electrics via a little push-fit connector, so I didn't have to remove all the pots and fish them out of the body cavity if I wanted to...

    Marshall 30th anniv. value?

Anyone know roughly what a Marshall 30th anniversary is worth, original blue tolex? Its the 6101 1 X 12 combo plus matching 1 x 12 extension cab, also blue tolex. Runs on 11 valves, 4 el34 power stage. Its a really meaty bit of kit, but just too loud for the type of playing I do these days. Is...

help sourcing 3-way mini toggle switch

Yes its time to get out the soldering iron and hacksaw again. I'm having trouble sourcing a mini toggle switch in the UK, I need a 3-way DPDT mini toggle with on-on-on configuration and 6 connection lugs on the back, for doing some fancy series/parallel/coil-tap humbucker wiring, as per SD...

    Would it be useful if...?

Wouldn't it be useful if SD could provide a little siplified graphic eq diagram for each of its pickups to visiually represent a typical sort of tonal response and output? just 5 or 6 vertical bars, that sort of thing? Maybe they already do this somewhere, maybe its been covered in earlier...

Doesn't this just make you want to rush out and buy a Jackson guitar? Nice pic or inappropriate marketing?

time to upgrade my Epi 335 Dot

Apologies if this subject has been discussed here before. I'm a newbie to the forum, and seek the opinion of the Seymour Duncan sound gurus as to the best replacement pup upgrades for my Epi 335 dot. I'm looking for a versatile array of sounds, from jazzy blues thru paul weller raunch to Santana...
