    OK i finally decided to get a myself the emg 85 and 81 pickups... now i have read many reviews on the forum saying that the pickup sounds better with this '18 volt mod'... what is it exactly? how would you do this and how does it affect the sound of the pickup....

    EMG neck p-up suggestions?

    OK i know that the emg hz h4 is a model of the emg 81 without the 'active' in it.... i'm planning to use that as my bridge p-up for my guitar.... but i haven't got a clue which emg is a good neck p-up that is a lot more mellow rather than harsh. (looking for an alnico type magnet for the neck)

    I have a schecter c1 blackjack with the jb/59 pickups, mahogany body, and 5 way selector blade.... i'm deciding whether i should change my pickups to give me a metal type sound. are there any suggestions of pickups that will do this job without having to lose the full capabilities of my 5 way...

    noobie seeking help

    i'm currently using a HH with a 5 way selector...with solid mahogany body.....im currently running on a '59(neck)JB(bridge) and im thinknig of changing to livewire metal...my question is with a 5 way selector, can this pickup be split or coiled tapped since it is active?
