What is the difference between splitting the to the inside coils vs the outside coils? I'd like to split coils on Washburn. I am currently running a PG in the bridge & a 59 in the neck.

Has anyone used a Pearly Gates bridge p/u as a neck p/u? I have one & was thinking of using it in the neck position with a Custom until I can find a suitable replacement.
