made by a local luthier here in Manitoba, Canada. i'm not really into teles and bigsbys but i actually like the look of this one. i'ved seen it in person on the store and it looks gorgeous though i never had the chance to try it out.

.................and another pickup experiment.
i recently bought a R8 Historic LP so i wanted a slightly different look for my standard and also still wasn't happy on the current pups from my last pup experiment(Seth Lover bridge w/ aged A2 on the neck and a stock Ant bridge, both w/ covers)...
i'm not really satisfied on the current pups on my LP- i find the Seth Lover bridge a bit bright and the Antiquity neck(w/ full power A2) is a bit wooly. the Ant neck sounds better with the stock magnet but the output is too low to match with the Seth Lover on the bridge so i swapped the mag w/...

here's a pic of a SD '59 screw coil and a slug coil. the two coils have obviously different colors. one thing i noticed is my antiquity humbuckers(neck & bridge, bothh 2005) have the darker wire like the screw coil on the 59 and my seth lover bridge(2004) has the lighter colored wire like on...
last week, i decided to swap my double cream Seth Lover bridge for an Ant bridge. i find the Seth bridge a tad bright. it might be because its uncovered but i can't find the original cover. so when the Ant arrived, i decided to swap the aged mag with a full power one(my neck pup is an Ant neck...
swapped my BBpro bridge modded with A2 with a seth lover bridge the other day and wow what a difference! the BB was good but i still feel there's something missing. so i swap the bridge pu first and it is really good the seth is clearly better than the BB(more woody and open, better mids). i'm...
slash said in a recent UK "Guitar Buyer" mag interview that the gibson humbuckers sounds good and he approved to change the A2Ps in his sig LP. any confirmation on this?
there's a tip from the torres engineering catalog(www.torresengineering.com) on brightening or increasing the output of a pickup(paf style) slightly by cutting the excess screws at the bottom of the pickup.it says it reduces stray magnetic fields thus increasing the efficiency of the pickup.
would a sd jazz(neck) sound like an alnico 2 pro(neck) if i change the magnet to an alnico 2 or 3? i think they're made of the same wire and the dc resistance is pretty close. any thoughts?
