Well I think what I discovered after checking with a multimeter is that my multimeter is broken! Neck was 3.20 Bridge was 4.75 I think I'll leave it there. The guitar sounds infinitely better than it did before. Good enough! Cheers for all the replies.

Hi The neck pickup is about the same height as the bridge one. I never use it though. I'll maybe wind it down a bit and see what kind of tones I get with both pickups. I'll try measuring the dcr as well. There's a multimeter lurking somewhere around here. Thanks everyone.
