I'd like to get a PRS CE 24 in alder to round out the collection, and have found a 2008 model from a local dealer for sale. However, he's not sure what the body wood is exactly. It doesn't appear to be a maple cap as it's neither flamed or quilted, so the obvious (at least I think) choices would...
All this talk about Telecasters has got me wanting one to add to the herd.....but a quick glance at the models has me confused as to the differences between them. Second question would be are they routed for H-H under the pickguard if I couldn't find a single-coil sized pickup I like?
I've found a guitar at a great price with no markers.....and am having trouble finding an idea online as to how much it would cost to have a luthier add some inlays. Extremely basic circle inlays would work....and I do have the option to just replace the neck outright as it is a bolt on...
Last night I pulled out the soldering iron and replaced the Custom in the bridge position of my McCarty with a Custom 5. Much better tone with more enriched clarity. There would be times when each string lacked distinction when strumming chords previously.
I need either a Gibson Les Paul Standard or a Heritage H-150 (well, maybe I don't "need" one but y'know how it goes). I always hear about the QC issues with Gibson but having only had the one I inherited from my step father, I don't actually know first hand.
Thoughts/input from those who know?
I've got a Les Paul Special (all mahagony) with P90's that I absolutely hate. I'm looking for a humbucker(s) that is P90 sized...but couldn't find anything Duncan outside of the custom shop. Suggestions?
I've got the HFS pair in the Custom 22 and they sound great....but, of course, I'm curious what Duncan's would drop in there well. The HFS sounds (at least to my ears) somewhat compressed. I had a JB/Jazz combo back in the day in a Schecter that sounded really good....and am wondering if that...
I've finally put aside enough cash to pick up a McCarty. The guitars mentioned in the subject are identical spec wise except for the model year. Any input as to which one may or may not preferable? Note that each would be an online purchase and thus I'd unable to take either for a test drive...
I want to drop a CC into my alder body Legacy as I want some clarity in the mids. Anyone know off-hand if this is trembucker spacing (note that it's a stop tail)? Thanks.
My G&L Legacy 2HB FINALLY arrived. This is the swamp ash model which happens to weigh more than the alder Legacy I've owned for a couple of months now. What should the average weight of a swamp ash strat style guitar be?
