So I kind of know that I am getting a Flying V Faded for Christmas. OK, I opened up the large guitar-shaped box that my wife 'hid' in the closet and there's a Flying V Faded in there. Now I have a month and a half to think of sweet things to do to it. What do you all think about putting 3...
OK. So I just ordered my 4 greenbacks and 2 vintage 30s for my 4x12 and 2x12 cabs. I have wiring diagrams for how I want them wired but I was wondering if there is a recommended type of wire to use. Let me know. Can I just go to radio shack and get some speaker wire or is there something...
So, does the Ohms of a cab make any difference? 4, 8, 16?
I need to wire my cabs to 8 ohm to fit my amps but I was just wondering if 4 or 16 would be any different.
Rock on.
OK. I have this no-name 4x12 cab, I think it was a Sonic. It has some Celestions that I have never heard of in it. They are made in England but they don't seem like anything great. I also have a Marshall 1936 2x12 cab with Carvin speakers in it (weird, huh?). I use the 4x12 for my JCM 900...
I have a JCM 900 head and a no-name 4x12 slant cab. I have a hankerin' to re-do the tolex on both in white.
My first question is: Am I nuts? Is this too difficult? Let me know what you think.
If it is possible for a doughhead like me to accomplish, let me know if you have any tips or if...
I just bought one of these on eBay and am very excited about it. I have played a Les Paul all my life. A few years ago I pieced together a Tele and love the look and tone but am not comfortable with the Fender scale. I am hoping this will change all that.
Has anyone done this conversion...
I was at GC this weekend messing around and I sat down at the Boss pedal setup. I played with the Super Ovtave OC-3 and the Acoustic Simulator AC-3. I have never even thought about having anything like these on my board but I was intrigued. Maybe I was just bored. Anyway, I'd like to know...
I have a 4x12 cab that I bought about half a year ago. It has four cream decal Celestion G12S-50 speakers in it. I can't find anything about these speakers on Celestion's site. I assume that these were just ecomomy speakers but they were made in England so I don't want to disregard them...
I may be in the market for some greenbacks. Anybody know a good place to buy them? I see them on eBay a lot but I would kind of like some that are new so it can be ME who works 'em hard.
Rock on.
OK. I just bought a new tweed Blues Jr. amp. I really like it. Very nice. anyway, I noticed that it can run an external speaker cab. I have a Marshall 1936 2x12 cab wired to 4 ohms. Do you think it is safe to play throught that?
I admit that the whole ohms things confusses the heck out of...
So I now have a Marshall and a Fender amp. I'd like to get a good A/B switch so I can go clean or dirty or both. Any suggestions? I see some on eBay. Let me know if there are any I should avoid.
Rock on.
So, i got a PEavey Mace 2x12 combo for free the other day. It needs some tubes and there is not footswitch.
I kind of have my heart set on a Blues Deluxe so I am thinking of selling the Mace. I don't see any on eBay. I have searched and searched for some kind of price. Can anybody help me...
So I am moving into a new house and the guy who just moved out left a Peavey Mace 2x12 (Series 320 T) amp in the garage. He said it needs some tube work.
I know NOTHING about this amp. I have never heard of it before but it has like 6 tubes in it so there must be something good, right?
I...
I saw this auction for a Gibson Les Paul Standard Double Cut but it don't look like anything I have ever seen. The body looks like an Ibanez Artist with symetrical cutaways and I have never seen a Les Paul with an Explorer head. I think it's a fake but I thought I'd see if any of you had ever...
I just sold my Mesa Nomad 45 combo and got the deal of the century on a JCM 900 50 watt head and 4x12 cab. I love the Marshall dirty tone. I like it a lot. I am having a hard time adjusting to a one channel amp, especially coming from the 6 channel Mesa. I can turn the volume down on the...
