I was wondering if its possible to wire the bridge pickup in series and the neck pickup in parallel, or should it be both in parallel/series?

I have the sh6b distortion in bridge and jazz in neck, but i like the simplicity of the no neck pickup with just one volume pot, i want to know if the distortion on bridge position with no neck pickup is enough for rhythm and lead playing, anyone tried?
