I've been researching ways to achieve a W/D/W rig for quite a while now and I basically thought I had it quite clear in my mind. The type of W/D/W I have in mind is not strictly the type of W/D/W from the 80's with massive stacks of rack units that probably most guitarists think of when...
UPDATE!
I ended up buying an Orange TH30 and I sure don't regret it. It has an awesome distortion channel and I can't complain about its clean channel either. I know there are quite a few people out there who doesn't really like this amp but I love it. It is however my very first tube/valve...
Hello!
I am building a W/D/W rig and plan on getting either a Boss ES-8 or an RJM Mastermind PBC/6X to control the effect pedal switching on my pedalboard as well as the channel switching on my amplifier (Orange TH30) and my preamp pedal (Victory V4 Kraken).
However, I would like to know...
I've got the chance to buy a Vox AD100VTH for $160 with a JJlabs EG-1000SE 4X12 included. I don't know anything about the cab or which speakers are inside but I'm mainly looking for an amp head anyway. I would want to know whether or not this could work as a good pedal platform, but any info on...
I am building a W/D/W rig and am looking for an amp for my dry tones. I already have two 100W Hughes & Kettner Vortex Black Series solid state heads with two 4X12 cabs that will make up the stereo wet. And right after I finish writing this post I'm on my way to pick up a Victory Kraken V4 preamp...
Here's a diagram of the setup I made a while ago.
Obviously I made this diagram before coming across the Pedal Baby, the Terror Stamp or before I got the Green Russian Big Muff but the basic layout of this is still valid.
I've been thinking about getting an Orange Pedal Baby. The whole selling point of this product seem to be that it's a fairly neutral pedal platform that allows you to shape your sound using only pedals, and I like that concept. I sure wouldn't mind owning a Diezel VH-4 but I will never afford...
I have a question that I can't find an answer to anywhere. We all know there are delay and reverb pedals that come with a trail function, allowing the effect to continue and fade out after you've disengaged the pedal. However, I wonder whether or not there's a way to basically achieve the same...
I never said that I wanted 5 ply of aged white pearl, I never even said I wanted pearl. I said "pearloid" which is plastic. Usually it's a laminate so the pearloid is glued on top of sheets of 'regular' plastic. Like you say, often alternating between black and white in several layers.
Now...
I want to make my own Les Paul pickguard and have been trying to find 5 ply pearloid sheets without any success. Most of the stuff I've found is 2, 3 and in some cases 4 ply, but since Les Pauls come with 5 ply pickguards I'd like to do it correctly.
I am specifically looking for gold colored...
I have an Epiphone Les Paul with a Seymour Duncan SH-4 in the bridge position and a 59 in the neck position. I have ordered 4 new CTS 550k pots (450 series, ±9% tolerance) that I plan to put into the guitar. I read somewhere that some people use 0.022µF on the bridge tone pot and 0.015µF on the...
Les Pauls and any guitar with a similar headstock where you have 3 tuners on each side in a row or even having a slight fanned out pattern tend to have problems with tuning. Especially the G and D, but even the B might be problematic. The reason for this is the way the strings have to splay out...
