  • After days of research, I've decided I want to swap PU's of my basswood Jackson Dinky. It came with high-output ceramic humbuckers, but sounds shrill and needs a change. Based on all of your informative posts, I've decided on the PATB-1, which I see is a savior for tremolo installed basswood guitars. I want to cover everything from Blues, Classic Rock to 80's metal and thrash. I am kind of undecided on the neck though, I hear the FS is great for the neck position but I was wondering how the FSn goes up against the PATB-1n. I know the PATB-1 set would be nice, but would the Full Shred neck be a better option? I want to use the neck for two things: nice cleans and nice solos with the gain turned up. I am currently living in South America and there is no 30 day return/money back guarantee and all purchases are final! Thanks so much, I hope I am not bothering you too much with this.
There are lots of other great pickups, but the Parallel Axis design is really sadly neglected. Especially for vibrato bridge guitars, it's wildly under-recommended.

A PATB wouldn't be my first choice in most mahogany Les Pauloids, but for many thinner bodies, if you're going for a humbucker they're strong contenders. :)
