Yeah, might be the pick I'm using. One of those "tagua nut" super hard / slippery picks...it can be bright/chirpy like that. I personally love the sound, and the 59/C really makes it pop. One of the reasons I really like it.

Update to everyone here on this one in case it comes around again. I did take the Freeway out and put in a 5 pos / 4 pole super switch. I'll spare the messy details, but it turns out that what was wrong was actually on the Tripleshot on the middle pickup. Where the grey wires meet the board...

Quick update. Got it put together, strung up, and the wiring mostly works 🤣. I think I might replace that 10-way freeway with something more simple. Overall, happy with the basic results. Lots of work to do on the action (strings are almost 1/4" high at the 12th fret). Really really digging...

Bare roasted maple neck

I completely botched the paint job...many lessons learned. At some point in time in the future I'll strip it and reapply. For now, everything has arrived and the fun begins.

Yup. No worries. This is who I am, I do weird stuff like this...and this isn't meant to be practical in a "use this in gigs" way, it's just something I've always wanted to do. Honestly will be surprised if it's a dozen, expecting less, lol.
