I always wanted to try one but I don't think George Lynch even uses it anymore, what else is new though.

Would a JB with a degaussed A2 magnet have less bass than a regular A2 magnet? I'm thinking of trying this out. I would like to get less bass than a standard JB with an A5 but still have the bottom stay somewhat on the tighter side.

in a solid mahogony floyd strat, custom 5 (sh-14) in there now. what's out there? I thought about the Custom Custom SH-11 but maybe too dark? Maybe the '78? I don't like a lot of low end, I like tight bottom yet chewiness and sparkly top end as well.

Does anyone have an early 80's Duncan Holdsworth? Were they always wound in the 16k+ range or were the older ones wound in the 8K range? I'm finding a lot of different info on what he used early on, some say a wind like a 59n with two rows of screws. Thanks for any info.

Recently picked up a Les Paul copy, mahogany body, maple cap. Came stock with a JB Bridge and a '59 neck. The JB is a bit too hot for me and I'm looking for more of a vintage AC/DC type tone. Does the '59 Bridge stay tight in the lower notes or does it mush out? Thanks.
