Lets see those pedal boards you are using right now.

Hey all, (kinda) new guy here. Here's the latest iteration of my gigging setup. We'll see how long it stays like this!

    Noisey Strat

Wow, I forgot I actually had an account here, lol. I googled a question and it led me to this forum so here I am. Anyway, I totally shielded one of my Strats using the 'Quieting the Beast' guide and now it's buzzing like mad, and it seems to get worse when I touch the strings. - Cavity is...

Spin a Split with Cool Rails neck

Hi all, I'm interested in trying this on a Strat of mine and am wondering which pot to use to accomplish it. Searching thru here has resulted in a slew of different values/tapers being suggested. Wondering if anyone has done this with this particular pickup/position and if so, what kind of pot...

Super 5 way with SD's and Dimarzio......

Hi gang, I'm looking to wire up my Strat using this diagram: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=3stks4_1v_2t_s5ws but I'd like to go with a Dimarzio '54 pro in the neck position. What do I need to do to wire that one in? Are there leads that need to...

    Multiple manufacturers in one Strat....

Hi, hoping someone can shed some light on a Strat I plan to wire up. I want to use the following pickup config: Bridge - stk-s9 Middle - Area '67 Neck - Fender Hot Noiseless I'm a bit confused because the Duncan lit says to reverse their leads if using another manuf. pickup such as Fender...

    Mixing pickups and pot values

Hi all, in my Strat I have a Cool Rails in the bridge, an Area 67 in the middle and an Area 58 in the neck. The Areas seem to work best with a 250K vol. pot while the Rails likes a 500K pot. I currently have 250K pots in the vol. and tone positions and for the most part everything sounds ok...

    Cool Rails height?

Love these in the bridge position of my Strats, was wondering just how high/low others have them set at?

    250K vs. 500K?

If the pickups I want to use (in a Strat) are said to work best with 500K pots, would I use that pot in the tone position or in the volume position (or both) or does it matter? Thanks!

    Mixing SD's and DiMarzio

Hi gang, I plan on installing an Area 61 in the neck, an Area 67 in the middle and a Cool Rails in the bridge. Is there any wiring issues I need to be aware of when mixing these two brands? Thanks!

    Simple wiring question......

If I'm wiring up some Strat pickups (in my case Hot Noiseless p/u's in one guitar, 3 Cool Rails in another) and the pickguard has the foil in the area where the controls are, do I still need to solder a wire connecting all three pots together, or are they grounded through the foil?

STK-S9 mixed with Fender Hot Noiseless?

Want to put a Hot Stack in the bridge and use Hot Noiseless in the neck and middle. Will I need to reverse the wiring on the Hot Stack (black to switch, white to ground)? Or does that only apply to regular "non noiseless" Fender pickups?

Treble bleed values for Cool Rails

Anyone using a treble bleed ckt with Cool Rails pickups (Strat, all three positions)? If so, what values seem to work well for you? Thanks!

    Cool Rails problem.....

I use these in all of my Strats, absolutely love 'em! I have the older ones (without the plastic cover) as well as the more recent ones with the cover. I was stringing up a Strat yesterday when I noticed the metal "rails" were about even with the cover, I lightly touched the rail with a pick...

    Three way Strat wiring....

Hi, I want to wire up a Strat using two cool rails pickups in the neck and bridge position (nothing in the middle)with a three way switch, volume pot, neck tone and bridge tone. How can I accomplish this and have the tone controls act independantly from each other? I'd like to be able to have...

    Bad fretwire?

Has any of the techs here who do refrets ever come across bad fretwire? I just had a Strat refretted by the same luthier who's done all my other ones in the past (he does great work, and is the only person I allow to do my fretwork). I've noticed that these frets are denting REAL easily (you...
