Trembucker closest to Antiquity bridge humbucker?

What is the Trembucker closest in sound to an Antiquity bridge humbucker? From the sound clips, I like the '59 Trembucker the most, but am almost afraid it'll be a little too scooped in the mids. I have no experience with a '59 in the bridge position of any guitar. The vehicle in question is...

    Not your typical Antiquity application...

I just finished building a single-hum hot rod. I haven't put a finish on the body yet, but wanted to wire it up so I could hear it. I only had two humbuckers in my parts drawer: a nondescript pickup from an '85 Squier Contemporary HH Strat and a double-cream Antiquity. I decided to go with...

    Two humbuckers and a five-way

Is it possible to get the switching configuration below using a standard five-way switch? The pickups are a '59 and a JB, both 4-conductor. I'm thinking it's gonna have to be a megaswitch-type thing. Switch suggestions are welcome! Pos 1: Neck humbucker Pos 2: One coil of each pickup in...

Foil shielded a guitar, now I hear ticking

Using the aluminum tape that HVAC guys use on ducts (not duct tape!), I shielded a couple of strats. The tape covers the back of the pickguards and the insides of the body cavities. I made sure that the tape came up onto the front of the body so it contacts the tape on the pickguard. Anyway...

Postscript to Tele neck pickup thread

A couple of weeks ago I posted a request for suggestions for a brighter Tele neck pickup and received a number of responses. No offense intended, but I went against all of them. :laugh2: I ended up putting in a Fender CS Texas Tele pickup that "fell into my lap," and now I have the Tele...

Can this be fixed w/o a rewind?

A friend gave me a Texas Tele bridge pickup that had a break in the start of the wind. The break is in between the eyelet and where it disappears inside the coil. I have tried soldering wire onto the end of the start wrap and connecting it to the eyelet, but I'm not getting continuity. Is...

Need a brighter Tele neck pickup...

I have a homebrew Swamp Ash tele with a one-piece maple neck and the 3-saddle bridge. The bridge pickup is a SD Broadcaster and the neck pickup is a SD Vintage Tele Rhythm. The Broadcaster pickup is great, but I'd like a neck pickup that has more attack and an overall brighter sound. The warmth...
