    Who knows phase?

Should a Duncan vintage for broadcaster bridge and sm-3 mini neck be in phase of wired according to the Dumcan diagrams?

Thanks again, Seymour! Epiphone P90 upgrades

I got the ES-339 P90 Pro about a year ago and, honestly, it sounded pretty darn good. Both P90s read right at 8k and are very sweet sounding. But I had an Antiquity bridge and Vintage neck pickup that were in need of a home, so I put them in. The Antiquity bridge (8.95k) has A5 magnets and the...

    Seymour hooks me up again!

I've used many SD products and have never been disappointed. My latest project is a "tele" made from an old, unfinished Gretsch Astro Jet body. 50 year old mahogany! I put a Broadcaster in the bridge and an SM3 mini humbucker in the neck. I'm in heaven!

    Repair? Replace?

I have a recent Fender Original Vintage tele neck pickup with a busted coil wire. It's a $50 pickup new. Is it worth it to have it fixed or am I better off just buying something else?

Built a guitar around a set of Seymour's Broadcaster pickups

And yet again, he shows why he's the man. I've never been disappointed by SD products and the record remains unblemished with my new Broadcaster set. They're amazingly quiet in terms of single coil noise and are dead on in terms of what I wanted to hear. The bridge can twang with the best of...

    Sale or trade....Phat Cats

I have a set of Phat Cats for sale. Used, in good condition, seen here in their recent home. Both leads are uncut with a solder stain on each braid from grounding. Covers haven't been off. Magnets are stock. $100 shipped for the pair or I'll trade for one really nice bridge PAF type...

Fourth Time Is A Charm...Phat Cats to the Rescue!

A little video of my new build. It's a thinline walnut hollowbody. Very bright, punchy guitar that took a few tries to get right with pickups. First, a telecaster neck pickup went in. That didn't sound too bad but the pole piece alignment was awful. Second, an SM-3 firebird pickup. Solved the...

Man, this guitar has been a tough one to find pickups for. Help?

The body is a 2" thick slab of walnut hollowed completely out with a 1/4" walnut cap. Neck is walnut with a Honduran rosewood board. Unplugged, it sounds like a mini resonator. At the neck right now is a Duncan SM-3 mini and its OK but not great. With 250k pots and a .033 cap, it's tame enough...

    Is this string/pole alignment acceptable?

It's not perfect but it seems the two E strings are just over the poles. Is the string spacing too narrow for this pickup or is it ok?

Bright Hollowbody Needs A Bridge Pickup

The guitar is made from 25 year air dried American black walnut. The body is a little thicker and bigger than a Les Paul and its completely hollow inside. It is, however, more of a fully chambered solid body than it is a traditional archtop, so it's pretty sturdy. The neck pickup is an SM-3...

A wiring challenge for the adventurous

Here's what I got... I'm building a new guitar. This one. At present, I only have the neck pickup; an SM-3N with four conductor wiring. I like having this pickup split. The guitar is already drilled for a three way toggle switch and I'd like to use that for switching the coil shunt if I...

    I'm building a unique guitar...Pickup suggestions requested

Here's where I'm going. This body, all walnut and just a bit bigger than a Les Paul, will be 100% "chambered" if you will. Everything inside the inner line goes, leaving a 1/4" back intact. This is the top. Also 1/4". Here's the general layout, with 24.5" scale walnut neck/Honduran...

Help Me Sort Some Soapbar Issues?

I recently finished (literally) a little prs Soapbar project. A buddy hooked me up with a pair of Duncans for it; a vintage neck and hot bridge. Sp90-2. I've been the last couple of weeks tweaking the setup, especially pot and cap values and pickup height. I think I have me dialed in about...

    Splitting The Duncan SM3

I did it! There's not much info out there on splitting this pickup, but I have a new tele that I made to fit the sM3N and a four way switch, so I added an option of neck split. Can't recall where, but I found one post about it sounding rather like a Charlie Christian pickup. Not fat off the...
