Ibanez RG450M - want EMGs... pre loaded pick guard???

Hey everyone... I have an newer Ibanez RG450m that I'm using as an experimental mule. Right now I have a JB in the bridge position. I'd really like to try EMGs in it, but I'd rather buy a new pick guard and set it up from scratch as an EMG rig. MAybe buy another pick guard and drop an SH-6...

What the hell is a Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine "Thrash Factor" pickup

I saw a VMNT on the Dean site and it advertised this pickup. A quick google search lead to a Dean echo chamber. What is this pickup? TIA...

School me on the Ibanez RG

I'm looking for a shredder to take the place of my Jackson DKMG. I just don't like the neck on the Jackson (it's a pretty thick "D-ish" shape), nor do I like the traditional Strat neck joint. I really like the thin "D" neck on a couple of my other guitars. The RG450DX looks like a decent...

What are these? Evan, you might want to see this...

I came across this website, www.dragonfireguitars.com and saw that they are peddling some pickups that they call "Hot Rails." Are these Seymour Duncan Hot Rails? If not, I was under the impression that "Hot Rails" were a trademarked product name. Somethings seems fishy...

    Tell me about these guitars

I currently have a Jackson DKMG that I just cannot seem bond with, no matter how hard I try. The neck is the right sort of shape (D-shape), but there's something about it that just doesn't feel "right." In addition, the "alder" body has always sounded thin, compared to my old LTD M-100...

Modeled sound quality: Zoom G5 vs RP1000

Let me preface this by saying taht I really dig my RP1000. However, the technology is a little dated and I am wondering if the Zoom G5 has better modeling, assuming that the G5 is being used straight to PA. Any thoughts? Are the G5 amp models better/more faithful to the real thing?

Mini humbuckers - what's the deal?

Never played a guitar with mini humbuckers before (unless the hot rails in my strat count). What's so special about them?

    Dunb question alert

What the heck is a "screen resistor?" What does it do? Anyone have a pic of one in an amp? Sorry for the doofus question, but it has been haunting me for some time.

Anyone have any experience with neck profiles?

I've been playing on my Jackson DKMG lately and I really like the guitar - except the neck profile. It is (in my opinion) a hefty D-shaped neck and makes things awkward for me. The rest of the guitar is great - very solid. No other complaints. I don't want to ditch this guitar because...

    Are those DSLs I see???

Was watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahs-INtU5o8&feature=player_embedded And saw some very familiar looking amps in the backline. At :42, 1:23, 2:55, etc. They look like JCM 2000 DSLs to me. Can anyone confirm? ps: I think it's pretty cool that they let Cris Broderick play...

    James Hetfield's first V

The "Who Makes You Want To Get A V?" thread posed an interesting question: was Hetfield's first V a bolt-on? Indeed it was. I remembered that I had saved some pics of James' V from an internet article on Metallica's equipment. Picture 4 shows the neck joint:
