Is a tone stack just essentially an EQ? If it is, then would it be possible to have a tone stack that was controlled by a parametric eq to adjust which frequencies were boosted for more control over tone shaping rather than just a static bass, mid, and treble knob adjustment...or am I way off...

I have an extra jazz and custom laying around and was thinking about hybridizing them with either an A5 or A8. I know the 59/custom hybrid is the most popular but has anyone fused the jazz with the custom? Before I begin, how is it different?

Has anyone tried a 59 or Jazz with a ceramic magnet? Do you think the top end would be too harsh? I searched the forums and couldn't find any history of this mod. I'm sure someone here has done it.

So if people like the Jazz for clarity as opposed to a 59 (42-guage) at 7-8k, and the Jazz is (43-guage) and wound to about 7-8k, then if a pup was wound with 44 guage wire to 7-8k , would it be even more articulate than the Jazz? Like Uber-clarity? Would it be like unwinding a JB down to 7-8k...

It obviously sounds like the rhythm pup. Correct me if I'm wrong. Is it a Les Paul with Gibson pickups? If so, which Seymour Duncan pup would clone that tone the closest?
