Open G and Open D tunings

I've figured out that Bad Apple is in Open D and got most of the chord shapes for it figured out.

Open G and Open D tunings

Check out the Canadian David Wilcox! He's funny and an incredibly soulful blues-rock guitarist. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJSYwN8dNSspMIMY8jwYRWWGTjfWINhpp&

Open G and Open D tunings

As far as barre chords it's easier, relearning scale patterns is a bit of a pain.

Open G and Open D tunings

Is anyone here well versed in these tunings? I've been a fan of the Canadian David Wilcox for years but never got familiar enough with open tunings to learn his songs the way he plays them. I'd like to change that this year. If anyone has any resources they recommend (outside of YouTube) or...

    Your Favorite Tubes

Honestly I usually just buy JJ because they're affordable and made in Europe. I've never like Sov-tek. I like Mesa tubes but have never paid for replacement ones. A little over a year ago I bought a bunch of EL-34s for $150 and have slowly experimented with the various ones. I swapped TAD...

JB vs ’59 vs Custom Which One Do You Keep Going Back To

For me, the '59 in the bridge of a Les Paul. If I wanted more output, I'd opt for a Custom 5 or a 59/Custom hybrid.

    DOD/DigiTech Badder Monkey

I din't watch the video so I missed that. In that case, superb redesign!

    DOD/DigiTech Badder Monkey

What makes the original Bad Monkey (and the Sreamin' Blues, Hot Head and DF-7) so versatile was the Low and High EQ controls. It's a bit of a shame they opted for one tone control, but still a neat redesign. I still laugh when I think of how Josh of JHS Pedals created Bad-Monkey Derangement...

That's a nice collection! Rock on! I found a tour of the Washburn custom shop. You've probably seen it, but if not, enjoy!

Need Help- recommend an acoustic guitar

Find a USA-made Guild. Westerly RI or New Hartford are my favorite eras. The D-25 is a popular one and can often be found for $1,000 or less. The D-6 and Dv-6 are sleepers (I recently bought a '93 D-6 for $350 USD, it's very similar to a D-40). The DCE series are cutaway dreadnought acoustics...

True, but it's still impressive to see.

Played a Peavey JSX and XXX cab

The JSX and XXX amps are both really good, and more similar than different. Everyone goes nuts about the 5150 and 6505 amps, and understandably so, but I like the JSX slightly more. Depending on the speakers in the XXX can, you might find the JSX a little smoother through a T-75 loaded...

    This is beyond stupid

Yes and I don't know who buys them. It's even worse for relic R9s.

    This is beyond stupid

I'm personally not a fan of relic'd guitars. As much as it's cool to see a guitar with natural wear and tear, I'm even more impressed when I see a 40+ year old guitar that's still in good condition with minimal paint/finish damage. But I also buy new jeans that look brand new.
