Does pickup height affect tone or just the output? I have '59 on neck and Hot rails on bridge of my strat. I have stock on middle and i want to adjust the height on all such that there is a balanced output without the middle one being too high (it bothers me when i pick around there).
If anyone has pictures of their strats with multiple single-coil sized humbuckers, could you post them so I can see what they look like? I have SHR-1 Hot Rails on bridge and '59 on neck. I want to see what strats would look like with other combos. Sorry i can't post mine. I don't have camera.
I'm not quite sure which term it is (split, series, etc.) but how close to a single coil pickup will it sound if I disconnect one the coils on a humbucker? More specifically, I have a Hot Rails SHR-1 on bridge and Little '59 on neck (both single-coil sized humbuckers). I love the way these sound...
Now that I've installed Hot Rails for my bridge, I know first hand what they sound like. What would be the closesest to the tone and output of Hot Rails that looks just like regular single coils?
A few days ago I installed SHR-1 Hot Rails on my bridge and it is exactly what I was going for! Seymour has nailed it right on! Just wanted to post my opinion!
I just installed Hot Rails for the bridge position of my MIA Strat and it sounds great!! The problem is, the #2 position (Bridge and Middle) are no longer hum-free! What did I do wrong (the middle pickup is a stock single coil)? How can I correct this problem?
What do most experienced guitarists think of the 490R and 498T pickups on Les Pauls? I just don't hear anything about them in forums, etc...Many usually talk about PAF's, etc...
I need help choosing a pickup for my Fender Strat. Which pickup, Hot Rails or Little '59, will give heavier, richer, more sustained distortion sound? Do they sound similar enough to go with the one I think looks better (Little '59)?
