Why PRS guitars cost so much

http://prsguitars.com/detail/ PRS has some interesting videos to watch (start with the neck series and work your way down). This also really shows why they cost so much. The attention to detail and the hand crafted aspects of PRS really show.

    Current Modelling/Headphone Amps

I am currently an apartment dweller, so making noise is out of the question. Can anyone update me on the current offerings of headphone of modeling amps? Keep in mind that I play across the distortion spectrum, so cleans and low and mid gains are as important as high.

    What is Buddy Guy Playing?

Yeah, I was inspired by the Gilmour thread, but I've been wondering about this for a while. What kind of amp is this? Blackface fender? Tweed? I assume that he's just playing a '50s strat, but feel free to correct me on that one too. 5XUAg1_A7IE

    Loan Me a Dime

The Boz Scaggs version (with Duane Allman playing lead guitar?) What guitar is being used here for the clean? It sounds like a tele neck to me, but I want to make sure.

    Cheapest guitar you actually play

Just came up with this idea, what is your cheapest guitar that actually gets play time? Pics are welcome. I use an old Japanese Hamox f-100. It is made of some weird plywood with a spruce veneer on top, the action is horrible and some day the necks going to pop off, yet somehow it sounds ok...

    Hamer Fretless Bass

I found one of these for sale and would like a little more information. Can anyone tell me about these? Were there any import versions that I should be aware of? I'm not interested in hearing about alternatives, just more interested in whether this is a good deal or not. Thanks

    Les paul tuner question

I have a les paul that has a set of grover tuners. Is there a way to tell if it originally had klusons? There are currently no extra holes that can be seen on the headstock.

    harmonica help

Does anyone have some experience with harmonica? I would like to play Neil Young and hopefully eventually some blues, but am on a budget. Currently, I do not know anything about harmonicas other than the keys they come in, so any info would be helpful. I do know that many of the Neil Young...

Help with playing slide in standard tuning

I know how to get around in various open tunings, but I'd like to be able to play in standard as well. Any suggestions? Keep in mind that I plan on playing this on acoustic.

    Help with project ideas please

I'm thinking of starting an amp project, but I'm not 100% on what I want. I can solder competently due to a combination of robotics club and anal retentiveness. My father went to school for electronics, so I also have someone around to make sure I don't do anything stupid. So my main problem...

    Help with off tunings

There's a long list of good old blues songs that I believe I have the ability to play and would like to learn. The big problem is that they are all in these weird off tunings that are a step or so off any tunings I use. An example of an artist who seems to always be much sharper than me is...

    Resonator comparison clips

Yesterday I realized that for a short period of time I would have access to three different resonator guitars. I won't be in this position for long so I've decided to record a few clips to compare their different tonal qualities. So here I present clips of a duolian, a style o and a triplate...

    Luthiers!

Can you guys post pics/specs of guitars you've made? I mean really have made too, not another warmoth display thread (nothing wrong with warmoth, I'm just curious about seeing some hand built instruments). Thanks
