    RTM vs Custom Custom

What is the difference? It seems like the RTM would have slightly more output but what about the frequency response? I like the CC but in some guitars it doesn't have enough highs. Conversely, I like the JB but too much highs in some guitars. Is the RTM the answer? Right now I am working on a...

    PAF in a FIltertron Housing

Does Seymour make this or can it be made as a custom shop item? I'm thinking something like Seths crammed into a 'tron. :) -Frank

Need some Dimarzio HH Wiring help please :)

I have a set of 36th anniversary pickups that I am installing in an ESP Eclipse. I am wiring in a DPDT switch to turn off one of the coils on both pickups. If I do it the standard way - black and white to ground - will the middle position be hum-cancelling or do I have to flip one of them and if...

SD 59n 2 conductor with red and black wires

I have a guitar that came with these pickups in it and I have never come across this wiring color in a Duncan before. SD 59n 2 conductor with red and black wires and a bare ground and shield in black casing. Is this something new or old or what? I have been playing with SD pickups for a loonng...

What is the best Les Paul pickup set?

In your humble opinion of course :) I am replacing BB Pros in my LP Standard (chambered). I like 59/PG, 59/JB, Jazz/CC I like smooth and clear in the neck and fat a ballsy in the bridge with a nice jangly middle position. I am thinking of doing a Seth neck and Custom Custom bridge in this one...

    P-Rails, what's the general consensus?

I have tried these pickups a number of times and I just can't seem to get along with the humbucker sound. It's kind of dark and flat. The P-90 sound is really nice though. Is it just me?

Vintage Rails, Cool Rails, P-Rails and a Strat

Hey all, I just built a cool ash bodied Strat clone. I wanted it to have a kind of beefy modern Strat sound and I loaded it up with VR's in the neck and middle and a P-Rails in the bridge but I think it's a little too bright in the neck and a little too dark in the bridge. I am thinking of...

    Wiring a PRS Technical Question

Ok guys, I have wired this thing 20 ways to Sunday and I can't get it to work without at least one position being out of phase. I am wiring two SD humbuckers in a PRS CU24 (two of them actually). I used the diagram on the SD website @...

FS: TopHat Emplexador 2001 Block Logo

2001 Block Logo Emplexador 50 watts with the rare factory effects loop. This is no closet queen folks. It has been my very well loved main squeeze for the last few years and has rocked the clubs and studios around here and never let me down. It's the history of vintage Marshalls in one box. A...

    Has anybody tried a Custom3?

Custom with an A3 magnet. If so how does it sound say compared to a CC bridge?

    Anybody for slightly underwound PRails?

I for one would love a slightly underwound Prails set. The stock set sounds good but the series position is a little hot and could be brought down a little and maybe brighten it up too. So what percent of underwind do you think would be nice? 3%, 5%??
