how would a pair of Full Shred humbuckers sound in an all-mahogany, neck-thru Carvin DC127 (super-strat). it has an ebony fretboard and OFR tremolo. also, this guitar has 25" scale length. any opinions? is the neck-thru construction too bright or smooth for the FS? does the FS sound better...

you guys ever try the EMG SPC mid-boost control? today I played an ESP Jeff Hanneman sig (in cool urban camo finish) through a Marshall 2203 reissue....and was blown away. I've never liked the tone of the EMG 81, but combined with the SPC it sounds righteous! turned up to a little below half...

so how much effect does the body and neck woods really have on a solidbody electric guitar's tone? I mean we're talking about an electric instrument, right? not acoustic...no f-holes for sounds. doesn't most of the "tone" come from the pickups, fretboard wood, strings, bridge material, even...
