WIRING GUIDANCE. ANY ISSUES WITH USING A NO LOAD POT AS A VOLUME CONTROL

.I have a question about using a no.load on 10 pot as a volume control. I recollect reading somewhere on a Srat forum. that there can be inter action issues with a 5 way. . I will be carrying out a Gilmore type Strat modification with a master tone (wired 50s style) and using the spare pot as a...

MY LATEST .AMAZING QUAKITY BUDGET CHINESE STRAT TYPE.

As this is about a cheap chinese Strat copy I suspect there will be little interest in this post but I felt it necessary to sing the praises of this little beauty A teenage relative of mine ,a very talented acoustic player, has just put together his first electric rig on a pretty tight budget...

TUNING AND SETTING INTONATION ON GUITAR WITH Buzz Feiten System

I have 2 guitars with BF system. The systems I have been using has been to tune at the 5th fret. (4th on the G). And intonate using 3rd and 15th frets . This is what I was advised some time ago by a luthier friend. Seems to more or less work. Wonder if anybody else uses a different method?

Cleaning off wax after removing pick up cover.

I am resurrecting an old (2001?) set of MIK B and G pick-ups ...basically the same or very similar to a set of 101 DDs. Plan on fitting these to a very cheap EPI to help out someone with no spare cash. Covers are now a bit rough, so thought I would just remove. Is the time-honoured method of...

WHAT IS YOUR EVERYDAY GO TO GUITAR

Thought it might be interesting to know which guitars people are keeping around and plugged in and in regularly use, . My ”go to” is a 2006 MIK Washburn Wi66PRO which permanently lives on wall hanger over the amp and is used daily, if only for a quick practice session unplugged. What I like...

LIKELY ISSUES WITH MODELLING AMP AND LOOPER PEDAL

Don't plan on doing any amp shopping any time soon. Will play wih the looper for a while before deciding anything.. Seems there is an allegedly "simple" mod you can do to a VT 50 Vavetronic to add a loop. This appears to involve adding a capacitor, a resistor and a ferrite bead to the head...

LIKELY ISSUES WITH MODELLING AMP AND LOOPER PEDAL

I am about to buy a Lekato looper pedal as these look a lot of fun and are currently well priced new on Ebay for areasonable £35 shipped. Plus the in built tuner has received good reviews re accuracy. My main amplifier is a Vox Valvetronic VT50 . I use the built in Chorus,Delay and Reverb...

    HARLEY BENTON 15W VALVE AMP

Anybody any experience of these?.Sold in the US as Monoprice and based, I understand on an old Laney design. An acquaintance of mine of senior years is dipping his toe into the electric guitar scene late in life. He is a competentent acoustic camp fire guitarist but is also keen on jazz. His...

    WIRING DIAGRAM

Have been looking at the stock DTDP on-on-on switch wiring which gives series coil cut and parallel for a single humbucker. Presumably one could run a jumper wirefrom the "other" HB to the switch so this was aso cut when coil cut and parallel options engaged.

BEHRINGER TO800 VINTAGE TUBE OVERDRIVE ANYBODY TRIED ONE

Thought I might dabble with another pedal instead of relying on amp effects . I have a 16 year old Behringer Chorus pedal that still seems to work well despite the very low price when new. .Accordingly the plastic body is not an issue with me The TO 800 is pretty cheap here in the UK .Around 25...

    JUMBO ACOUSIC WITH A HUMBUCKER

Saw a talented street guitarist over the weekend. Despite what appeared to be very basic equipment he sounded quite amazing. . His guitar was a somewhat worn Eko jumbo acoustic which appeared have been electrified by simply adding a humbucker attached to a piece of wood (plywood?) inside the...

WIRING ....HUM WHEN BRIDGE PUP IS CUT

Hi wiring Gurus Firstly my usual apology for my inability to produce neat diagrams.. These are of course only extracts simplified to basics. Over the past 7 years or so I must have used my schematic for series to parallel plus col cut using 2 push pulls (see Fig 1) around 8 or 9 times...

Guitars with way too much bling than you would normally go for..

I own one of these. Translucent red color and bling style binding and fret markers a bit over the top but superbly made, plays like a dream and sounds brilliant Weight not too bad at 8 pounds . Have no intention of selling even though it does not get played that much.
