Well...i want to change the pick ups of my PRS Santana SE II.
Experience with duncan...a 59 set in a sg...and a JB in a super strat....
i want a classic paf sound in the neck..and a paf with a little more bass and mids and possibly little less treble in the bridge...
what can you recommend?
i...
We have pearly gates and pearly gates plus, gibson 57 classic and 57 classic plus...
Why not to have without going to custom shop...a regular production 59 wound to say at 9.5 or 10k?
Until bobbins are full...
Same pick up..same magnet...only overwound..regular production.

i need a little help from you.
if you look at this video..around 1.55 and around 2.45...what kind of pick up especially on the yamaha sg do you think he has on the bridge?
Neck is essentially an alnico 5 paf..kind of 59...but what...
is the same that you do on a les paul type guitar?
i've done on mine..but the sound is slightly different..
before i've had the tone pot only on bridge pick up...with normal wiring
now the sound have more mids..also on the bridge..but seems to lost a bit of treble when i roll off the volume..a...
This morning i went to my local shop and played few les paul...
Firs of all...these are my guitars:
1984 Yamaha SG3000 Custom
2002 Yamaha SA2200
2003 Epiphone G400 Faded with a set of 59
PRS Santana SE 2
Washburn MG400 DeLuxe (better than a strat)
so i like very much the vintage sound...
Now...
Hi all!
I would like a pick up like a 59b but with more mids..no alnico II...i find it lacks low end in comparison with alnico V...
Any suggestions?
The only thing that i think could do what i ask is a 498T..there is something better and maybe more vintage?
Tnx a lot
I was thinking what kind of bridge gives more sustain...

tnx a lot!
is a pick up made to sound like a 59 with more output?
What i mean is that a pick up with same structure and same magnet but overwound (8k vs 14k) sound in a different way...more bass...more mids and less treble..
So the C5 sounds like a 59 with more output or has more bass..more mids and less...
Prs 5 way rotary offers these possibilities..
1 Neck Humbucker
2 Inner coil parallel
3 Inner coil series
4 Outer coil parallel
5 Bridge Humbucker
I'm interested in having for example neck split instead of outer single coil...it's possible?
what are the possibilities offered by this 5 way sistem?
Hi all!
I've a couple of guitar equipped with humbucker, 500k pots and 0.047 uf tone cap(an epiphone g400 vintage with 2 sd59 and 50's wiring, and a PRS santana se II all original except for the 50's wiring)
now..seems that the standard for humbucker is 0.022..there's a so great difference...
Both are A5 around 13.5k...know how the 498T sounds...and i like...it's not wintage like a 59 but it's a good lead pick up...sounds very big and open.
what about the C5?
i can't do this type of wiring...i've tried in every way...and or the tone control does nothing..or act like a second volume or like a tone pot rolled back half...
the strange thing is that the ground is on the selector...and also the wire that goes from volume to tone has ground and if i...
