hi, my tele with vintage 54s had bad hum which was inappropriate in some settings, but i could live with it. A guitar tech put conductive tape in the cavaties to prevent the hum. Does it alter the tone even a tiny bit? Are there any disadvantages to shielding like this?

I heard that Paul Gilbert used Seymour Duncan pickups before switching to Dimarzio's in the early 90's. Anyone know for certain what he used? To my ears best guess would be Full Shred.

What would you guys suggest to be the equivalent SD to the Dimarzio DP151 PAF Pro? From a design perspective, it's an alnico 5 PAF with a bit hotter output (20%) and scooped, especially to boost treble.

hi, can someone point me in the direction of an example of the Pearly Gates bridge, used with moderate overdrive? It can be user created or something famous. I did a search thru this forum but links were now invalid. And on YouTube all i seem to find is guys using it with heavy distortion.
