I'm just wondering if anyone ever done this before. Instead of installing a real humbucker and losing the true voice of my Strat, if I mod it to allow bridge+middle in serie, I guess I could get a humbucker-ish kind of tone right? Sorta like a Stag-Mag?!

I have a Lite Ash Stratocaster which came stock with 3 Alnico-II Pro single coils. I want to install a bridge humbucker so I can use it live next to my LP (stock HBs). Last time I've tried a mini-humbucker (Lil' 59 into an Am. Std. Tele) I was quite disappointed (the tone was just boring...)...

The pickup is a TB-5 (Custom trembucker), the black wire (the hot wire technically) wasn't working at all (only the red to green coil worked). I tried cutting it and do a new connection, still didn't work, so I decided to simply replace the wire. And I only had a 3-wire spare, but I don't use...
