Re: Modifying a Steinberger SS-2F
Well, I got the parts last week but I haven't had a chance to wire it up yet.
However, while waiting for those parts I've been reading the site a lot (I was absent for a while) and came across the discussions of the Fishman Fluence pickups. The Classic model...
I recently picked up a Steinberger SS-2F (not the multi-scale length model) and would like to make a pickup and wiring change. The form factor is great, the neck is the size I like (a bit chunky but not a baseball bat - maybe a bit smaller than the "59" neck), and it hangs well (a lot of travel...
Does anybody know what the taper ratio of the SD Bourns log pots is? The standard Bourns pots is 90:10 - the first 50% of rotation covers 90% of the resistance and the second 50% covers the remaining 10% of the resistance. http://www.bourns.com/data/global/pdfs/PDB241-GTR.pdf
This is too fast...

I'm thinking about putting a P-90 style pickup into the bridge of an LP style guitar and pairing it with an SD 59n. I'm looking for a more classic P-90 - blues, jazz, 60's rock when pushed.
Which of the humbucker sized P-90's would you recommend for that role and to match with the 59n? Phat...
I'm going to be changing the pickups on my semi-hollow body (ESP Edwards 335 clone) and while I'm reasonably sure of my choice I might want to change them again without the hassle of pulling apart a semi's wiring. So, I'm thinking that I'll run the wiring from the electronics up to the pickup...
Has anybody tried a magnet swap on cheap(er) import P-90 pickups like those in the Agile or Eastwood guitars? These are ceramic magnet P-90s.
Thanks.
Oh yeah - Hi to all of you. I'm a long time lurker and a first time poster.
