    Remove old rubber?

That was my experience with a Rickenbacker bass mute.

Hi-fi yet soft Strat neck pickup - Vintage Rails?

Try replacing the slugs and magnets with Alnico V rod magnets first to see if you can live with it. It's a cheap experiment that often yields good results.

    Remove old rubber?

I removed one with a razor blade and removed the residue with WD40.

    New Husk Day

There is no conventional treble cut tone controls. Instead, there's a bass cut and a Q-filter which is an inductor based midrange circuit. It works like the Q control on a parametric EQ and scoops the midrange.

    New Husk Day

I finished wiring it today. Two 500K volumes, a 500K bass cut, and a 1M Q-filter. The bass cut is very effective without sounding thin or harsh. The Q-filter is more subtle, but when combined with the bass cut, it is very versatile. The action is low, and its intonation is good at C#. This...

    Tune o'matic question.

I use teflon plumbing threadlock tape to wrap the threads. It seals plumbing and kills rattles.

    between 250k and 500k needed

https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/tools/parallel-resistance-calculator/ Solder across pins 1 and 3. Use 500 for the first value and 1500 for the second, and you get 375.

P Bass pickup identification, is it a SD?

If all p-bass pickups are 11.6K, what difference does it make if it's not an SD?

P Bass pickup identification, is it a SD?

If the resistance equals 11.6K that would be a SPB-1. The R is who wound it.

    Add a resistor in parallel.

    between 250k and 500k needed

A 500K pot with a 1.5M resistor in parallel equals 375K. The resistor would need to be soldered between pins 1 and 3.

    New Husk Day

I bought this Xavier LP husk last night for $40, so I would have something to work on while off for my birthday. It may have been a factory second because there are two blemishes in the finish. One dark streak between the pickups and a bubble near the cutaway. I'm not sure why it was parted...
