    AHB1 wiring for a strat-like guitar

I built a phantom power box for my active pickups. That way, I don't need to worry about finding room for batteries or changing batteries, and one box can power multiple guitars. All you need is a mono 1/4 jack, stereo 1/4 jack, two 9V battery clips, and a small box. A mono cable goes from...

    James Hetfield's (possibly custom) Duncans?

They were sleeping on their friends' couches at that time, so they weren't working with anyone's custom shop.

    EMG Mark Knopfler mod

A 22K resistor with a 33nf cap would give a cutoff at 220hz, which is pretty bright.

    Frustrated with this wiring?

There's usually a small hole on the side of the switch. The ground goes from that to the back of the pot,

    Frustrated with this wiring?

Red/White wired together equals a series humbucker. So the bridge/neck would be wired the same way. I used a 3-way switch that is usual for a two-pickup guitar. A 5-way switch is mostly used with three pickups, not two. Unless the 5-way is a super-switch that can be used for many different...

    Frustrated with this wiring?

Yes, but the neck/bridge would share the same layout unless you're using the push/pull for coil split or series/parallel.

    Frustrated with this wiring?

I'm not sure what you're using the push/pull for, so I didn't include it. This is the basics of what you are looking for.

    Can it be saved?

Tanya Shpachuck on Youtube is restoring a Les Paul that is badly burned. I don't think that would be an economical repair.

    G&L is finished

None of Leo's generation is alive anymore. So what personal motivation would the current Fender leadership have to dishonor their namesake instead of acquiring and celebrating his later work?

    G&L is finished

Fender has kept Guild, DeArmond, and Gretsch alive. So why would Fender kill G&L out of spite when it's a marketable line extension?

What made you switch out pickups in the first place?

It started in 1987 when I got my first guitar, a Westone with an H/S/S setup. The neck and body were great, but the pickups sucked. I got a Carvin catalog in the mail, and I saw I could get a full set of noiseless H/S/S pickups for the price of one Dimarzio or Duncan. The M22SD was decent...

    Swapping speakers

What I learned is Celestion's have their own sound. They don't all sound the same, but they do have similarities. I have learned that Eminence speakers marketed as Celestion alternatives don't sound the same. That even if the published EQ curves look the same, they don't sound the same...
