    SD Hot Chicken Tele set

Should be getting my Hot Chicken Tele set today, hopefully they are what I am expecting to get from them. I'm not a country player but from the little info out there I think the heat and punch I'm looking for will work just as well for classic/Hard rock tones.... we shall see! Anyone else...

    Saturday Night Special pickups

Thinking of trying the Saturday Night Special pickups in my PRS McCarty, they look like they have a slightly hotter output than PAF type pups which I like. Just curious how you guys are liking them!

    Just Got a Blackstar HT-40

Glad I gave this amp another shot really starting to dig this amp, I bought it this past Sunday and got to use it with my band and no problem at all cutting through a band mix. When I initially got it the speaker was a bit stiff sounding and a tad harsh with my Les Paul but after cranking it for...

Wow!..the tone knob really does work!!

I reinstalled my Pearly Gates neck & bridge pickups again despite my Issues with the bridge being bright. I did some reading on this forum and I would see a few comments saying "Use your tone knob" when talking about bright pickups. Well I tried that and it works very nicely with out killing...

I need Pickups to tame a bright Les Paul!

Ok...my Les Paul is definitely on the bright side what would be a good set of pickups to tame a bright guitar would the Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro 2 be worth trying I also dont want strong mids. I like the mellow tone that my PRS McCarty gets and would like to find something similar...maybe a...

I think I dont like high output pickups anymore!

Man I tell you I tried and tried to go back to hotter pickups but I feel the Pearly Gates neck & bridge got the best of me and my Les Paul they rock, they have soul, they can be sweet or get nasty. I have been going back and forth with the Custom 5 or a Bill Lawrence L500XL thinking I need that...

    Converting a C5 to CC?

I want to try a Custom Custom to see how it would sound in my Les Paul, I have the C5 in there now I love the output I get with the pup but sometimes I think it sounds too dark. I have a Pearly Gates bridge pup can I just take that magnet out and slip it into the C5, I know the PGB mag is a A2...

Took a chance on a Pearly Gates bridge!

I've been using the 59N/59b for a while and liked it but the bridge at times would be brighter and thinner than I like, to resolve this I put in a Custom 5 I have laying around but now realizing I dont care for high output pickups anymore. I've read a lot of the reviews and threads on the PGb...

    59n/C5 revisited!

wow I'm glad I decided to go back to the C5, the C5 actually removes the Issues I had with the 59B. The 59b overall is a very good pickup but in my Les Paul it could get too bright and thin on certain passages. Decided to throw in the C5 again and all the thin highs are gone and brightness...

    Pearly Gates vs 59?

In a Les Paul which would be brighter the Pearly Gates Bridge or 59B, I really like the 59 but at times the bridge can be bright. Would the PG be a bit sweeter because of the increased mids or would be about the same................ I'm tempted to just buy the PGn/PGb and try them out!

Who here is using the Twin tube classic?

I just ordered the SFX-03 from Musictoyz.com and will have it tomorrow, I thought the clips sound real good on the SD site. If you use it I would like to hear about your thoughts on this pedal and what gear you use it with! I will be testing mine out with a Les Paul Classic loaded with SD-59's...

SD 59's in my Les Paul Classic!

Well got to play the Les Paul tonight with my band, I just re-installed a pair of 59's and man they sounded great tonight. These replaced the WCR Goodwoods I had in there which are fine pickups but I like the tone and out put of the 59n/59b much better. I wired my guitar using the 50's wiring...

59N or PGn which do you like in a Les Paul?

Just curious what the majority likes here, i just Installed a pair of 59's in my Less Paul Classic. I like the 59n especially with distortion its sounds very full with plenty of sustain but clean i hear the common complaint about it being a little Bass heavy. I've seen a lot of suggestions...
