Why are they so expensive?
I almost played one today but I decided to wait until tomorrow.

I wanted a tight hot dark cello tone with plenty of articulation to upgrade my Lakland Custom 5 string bass.
The SD custom shop said they have never done anything like this before.

One of my LP has an impressive looking control cavity.
Each wire has it's own solder lead plus there is an R9 style bridge ground "coat hangered" around the pots.
This Paul has a modern standard chambered body with CS R9 neck, special R9 wiring harness, and CS color.
The pups are BB1 and BB2...

I pulled the neck pup out and it is Bass Lines stack 4 conducter..but there is no number on the bottom...maybe under the rare copper foil shielding but I have no plans to damage it.
Sent photos to Derek Duncan at SDCS for review.

I have a 5 string Lakland Bass it has a SD Stack II in the neck and Duncan design music man style pup in bridge.
I'm looking for a different neck tone possibly warmer and more Celloish or could be tighter and meaner with perhaps blade magnets...SD have anything like that?
I plan on keeping...
