I'm looking for a new pup for my carvin bolt-kit strat. It's got a HSS config, with all stock pu's. The bridge is a bit to hard sounding without any character, and doesn't match the single coils to well. Which of these should I go with? I have no loyalty qualms between SD and Dimarzio, so thats...

and the footswitch (FS5 I think) that goes along with it for tap tempo (sold separatley). Their are plenty on ebay, but I prefer checking here first. I have a DD6 to trade for the DD5 if anyone would prefer having the newer boss delay. the dd6 has some blemishes, but is in fine working order...

Are tube amps generally louder than solid state amps (assuming we are speaking of 2 amps that are the same wattage)? I heard this from one of my friends and I did'nt think that the type of amplification made a difference on vol...?

What type of wood does this stuff sound like? Is it very light/heavy? what does it look like, without a chrome finish (ala joe satriani)? Thanks
