I've checked out the MIM Custom Shop-designed Baja Telecasters online and really liked the specs. The other day I noticed my local guitar shop had two of them hanging on the wall so I thought I'd check them out. I must say I was appalled at what I saw. The workmanship was just terrible. On the...
Hi everyone,
I'm going to fix up a friend's Fender "Crafted in Japan" Jaguar. First, I'm going to install a buzzstop to make it play better and then comes the tricky part... she wants it to sound as close to a Les Paul Junior as possible with having to do any routing or cutting up the...
Hi everyone,
I'm planning a projekt guitar for a friend and I will only be using parts from Warmoth to keep things simple.
First, the planned specs:
Thinline Tele body (mahogany, no f-hole, double black binding and candy apple red finish)
1-piece Rosewood strat neck (to be played without...
I just got an old 12-string acoustic (about 30 yrs). It sounds reaaalllyyyy good but damn, it's hard to play in tune. A Buzz Feiten install including full setup and fret job costs about $550. This guitar is definetely a keeper, lots of volume, bass and high-end sprinkle.
A Buzz Feiten install...
I just came home from NY where I picked up this really sweet Yamaha FG 230 12-string acoustic guitar. The tag in the store said it was "70s" and that's it. The serial number is 1483902, it's a red label Nippon Gakki guitar.

How many switching options does a rotary switch offer? Can you get coiltapping or seriel switching from it?
I'm thinking about building this cool little guitar with three Seymour Duncan Lipstick Tubes and a rotary switch. But I'm not sure about the rotary switch.
And how many pickup...
Hi everyone!
Two questions:
First, can I install the lipstick pickups in a strat pickguard without modifying the pickguard routes?
Second, will there be a problem if the make direct contact with a aluminium pickguard (like on some 50's Fender Strats) as the entire pickguard is grounded?
Thanks!
