for those familiar with these pedals what's the main differences between a ds-1 and a ds-2 ?? and what are some other good distortion pedals outside of boss that aren't overly expensive? i'm not the most well-off :)

i don't know a helluva lot about all the components of guitars and i've been playing a lil over 2 years now :smack: but i was just wondering.... does it matter if u have a really raelly **** guitar, but good pickups? like if i were to chuck some awesome pickups into a gibson lp or a epi lp...
