Does anyone know the way to split a vintage rhythm stack (STK-t1n) so that the TOP COIL (the one closest to the strings) will be the one that is on? The SD schematics show the switches shunt to ground but that doesn't say what coil is active.
Would I shunt to ground or hot?

I'm really interested in doing this wiring (http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/support/techtips.shtml). I have a Little 59' bridge and a vintage stack in the neck. Right now, it's just wired standard.
So, I need a 4 pole/5 way switch and a push/pull pot.

On my hollowbody Archtop, my concern is about running a string ground ... does there have to be a string ground - is there an alternative? my ground is coming off the pots soldered to a couple metal rivet points attached to the plastic mounting plate that all the electonic components are on...
Is this necessary? The ground wires off the back of my volume and tone pots on my archtop guitar are grounded to the metal plate of the control switch that is attached to the wood of the guitar ... is that right? How can I tell if the pickups AREN'T grounded correctly. btw, i put in Phat cats...
What is the best way to wire the CAPS - on the HOT side of pots or to ground? Seymour Duncan schematic shows it wired to the HOT side of the volume knobs but a schematic on stewmac.com showed the CAPS wired on the ground Pin ... if anyone can shed a little light on this that would be great!
