So I have a marshall mg15 msii mini stack, I didn't buy this amp because my dad was the original owner, anyways I like the sound but I've had a question. How do I identify if it's a tube or solid state? It doesn't really matter I'm just curious.
So if you read my previous thread about the spectrum strat I received from giving my friend a speaker, you know that I will soon be modding it but before I jump in I have a quick question about soldering. Do I need to use the flux my solder came with? and if so how? Thanks for all the help.

So it's about 1:30 in the morning right now and I've had a question in the back of my head that has been nagging on me for a while... is there a real difference in tone between the EMG 81 and 81x? And if so is it worth the price of buying a totally new pickup if you already have an EMG equipped...
So my friend gave me a crappy spectrum strat that he bought from kohls after I gave him a spare speaker/phone charger and ever since I've been looking to mod it. I play metal and I want a ride the lightning/peace sells tone. Wood isn't a problem and I would prefer the pickup to be passive...
