I have a DIY fuzz clone thats pretty cool but even at full pedal volume it doesn't really cut through much and theres a slight drop in volume. I'm looking for a fuzz that at lower settings can do the lead tone in bold as love , but still be able to get into some weird neil young/wilco territory.

I have a les paul and I've been entertaining the idea of putting actual p-90s in it. I have the phat cat in it and I like it but its not really very p90ish. Is it possible to install dog ears or p-90s? Which would allow for the least amount of modification? Could idea or not? Thanks
