As the title states, I've got an old Charvel Model 4 my uncle has given to me. He stripped out the electronics and put in a passive Duncan humbucker in the bridge, and a single-coil sized Duncan humbucker in the neck--nothing in the middle. Now, the neck pickup doesn't line up correctly so I'm...
So for a while now I've been looking for a second axe to downtune, and I'm getting tired of looking. I had my eye on some Agiles but all of the models I was interested in are no longer available! So now I'm thinking of just applying for credit at Musician's Friend and financing the...
Here it is boys, the Engl Screamer 50! Excuse the ****ty quality of the pics, they're from my cell. My digital camera is old and sucks major balls, and we can't find the charger to my gf's.
Oh yes, nice and shiny! I'm even wearing the same shirt that's in my avatar!
Look at...
My goodness, I'm suprised! I thought that used Studios would be going for $800 and up, but several are around $500. However, I'm also shocked to see how many headstocks have broken, and how many people abuse the hell out of their Pauls.
It should be here Thursday or Friday, but I won't be able to play it until Friday night. I don't have a cab, I'll be using a Mesa cab that's in my band's practice room. We share a room with the drummer's other band, and one of his guitarists in that band plays a Mesa Dual Rectifier...
Okay, my amp is just a few feet away from my computer, and I get a LOT of feedback and noise because of that. If I get a power conditioner and then plug my amp into that, will it stop all that? Should I plug my computer through it also?
HO-LEE-ISHT!
Super, SUPER hot! Totally insane!!! And the guy installed a resistor or cap or something to tame the bridge model to be just a tad louder than the neck. He said normally it was twice as loud as the neck pickup! I'm seriously contemplating getting a set for a metal axe.
...at GC today. You know, it sounds pretty good for $700. But I think I'd be better off finding a used head. The B-52 just...didn't have the sound I was looking for. I think it was too..."dry" sounding. But for the money, it's a good deal.
I think I'm going to need an effects loop, but should I let that influence my decision on what head to get? I mean, I could always get "The Japanese Apartment" pedal that...I think Keeley sells. Or is an effects loop better?
So I'm getting into a band that has a heavy, "machine metal" sound. I'll be playing distorted probably 90% of the time, if not more. We share a practice room with the drummer's other band and there is a Mesa Rectifier halfstack (I think it's the Dual Rec, not sure though) but the guy doesn't...
So my uncle has this older Charvel, I think it's from the late 80s, that he's letting me use for a while. In fact it just may be mine, seeing as how he doesn't play anymore, well maybe twice a year. Anyway, here's a link to some pics:

I've heard the name before, so I thought I'd check them out. I went to the website and it seems like they make some cool amps. The price seems okay for some of the lower models, but is the price on the website the price that they sell for? Or MSRP? Anybody have clips? Pics? Where can you...
I'm finding myself REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wanting to get a Les Paul copy. Tokai, Agile, Edwards, whatever. I just want one, and if I like it, I want another, and another! AHHH!!!1 Why?!
Anybody have experience with one? $899 for an all-tube, three channel head that can be British (EL34) or American (6L6 or 5881)? That sounds like a GREAT deal, and it's made in America too! I just watched the demo video and listened to the clips, and it sounds pretty good. I'm hopefully...
