Honestly, I’ve never tuned a guitar to an open tuning. I’ve played a few drop D tunes, but I really prefer standard tuning as a general rule. But that’s just me.

I concur. I thought it would be interesting to discuss different techniques here. We’ve done this multiple ways over the years. Our recent efforts seemed to be working better for us.
