Thanks for the update. I knew I was hearing multiple tracks, but I couldn’t pin them down. Again, I enjoyed this.

    Ever Know Why

It has been awhile since I listened to this. I’m pleased with the final result.

    Devil Woman

It sounds double tracked to me. How many guitar tracks are on this recording? I’m with Securb. I’ve always loved this song. Well done.

    Soundtracks.

It’s so cool seeing the different ways the Forum Bros use their skills. Thanks for sharing.

2025 is the Year of Purple Guitars --> Let's See 'Em!

The one in my avatar has been with me for a couple of decades. I can’t get a photo to represent the true color.

Ernie Ball strings vs everything else

When I switched to DR, they were noticeable “looser” than previous brands when tuned to pitch. I like the easier bends.

What guitar are you playing today?

It’s weird. My #1 typically gets 95-98% of my playing. It was the only guitar I used on our last album. Yet the songs on the album we currently are recording seem to call for #2, which is featured in my avatar. I’m adding tracks w/ #1, but the main tracks for 11/12 songs will be #2. I gave...

Open G and Open D tunings

Honestly, I’ve never tuned a guitar to an open tuning. I’ve played a few drop D tunes, but I really prefer standard tuning as a general rule. But that’s just me.

    Fattening Guitar tone

I concur. I thought it would be interesting to discuss different techniques here. We’ve done this multiple ways over the years. Our recent efforts seemed to be working better for us.

    Fattening Guitar tone

Listened to the first mix last night. He took the position 4 track and pan it left/right. He pretty much centered position 2 track. That focused the track with the Strat honk, and added body to the tone with the stereo panned darker tracks. Yes, beau, he does add “x” ms offset when...

    Fattening Guitar tone

I ended up not using the acoustic. I recorded the main track with the Strat in the #2 position for the Strat honk. I added a compressor for clarity. For the second track, same rig with the compressor off. Pickup selector at #4 position just to thicken the tone. It’s likely that the 1st track...

    Fattening Guitar tone

Certainly. I’m just sharing some recent experiences. The one that sparked this thread was surprising. The only difference on the second track was the guitar. The first was a Parker Fly Deluxe with a Brobucker pickup. The second track was a Parker Fly Mojo using a JB. The tones were just...
