I've tried shielding my strat a bunch of times, and have double checked everything and yet, the hum is just a tad worse. I made sure there are no ground loops, did not reverse any gound and hot output wires, so here is my question. My strat is a 2002 highway strat and i noticed before shielding...

So after installing pickups for the very first time ( 59 in neck, phat cat in bridge) I noticed the phat cat had lest output. So i tried to compensate the mismatch by lowering the 59 a great deal, but the 59 still sounds louder than the phat cat, even with half an inch or more in height...

I decided for the 59 and phat cat. I just bought them 2 hours ago and now am preparing to install. I printed 2 different schematics. 2 humbackers, 2 volumes, 2 tones, 3 way switch, but one is in phase. What are the pros and cons of wiring them in phase.
