I love reading about guitars on the internet, I learned a lot. Some football, eat my favorite foods, spend time with my family, play the guitar and bass, but not in a band, play along with the radio oldies. These simple things make me pretty happy

- Duncan Pups I Have Experience With...
- The SLT-1, Vintage 54 is an Alnico 5 pickup with raised pole peices on the D & G strings. I liked this one because it had great treble twang and clarity. It is used in the bridge/lead position. The SLR-1 is the reccomended rhythm/front. So these are the units I went with
I have another Fender guitar, it has ceramic magnets, they sound harsh to my ears. I want to try the 52
Nashville Series. STL52 and STR52. In these we have a combination of Alnico 3 and Alnico 5 magnets. The E A and D strings are being picked up with the Alnico 5 magnets while the G B & E strings are picked up with Alnico 3 magnets. Very clever. Mr Duncan is right, the Alnico 3 magnets, have slightly reduced output but are sweeter, smoother. If you listen to the audio clips of the pickups, all this seems to make sense. I spent a lot time reading, listening, but I had a real good time.
Mr Duncan's middle initial is W, and Jeff Beck wants his guitar back! That's it for now!
