i have a evh style ibanez rg with 1 humbucker, and 1 volume pot. is it possible for me to split the bucker using a push pull pot? if so how would i wire it??

how do i go about checking the dc resistance on my humbucker, i emailed a tech from SD , and he told me to put the leads on the green and black wires... i have no idea how to work a multimeter, and there are a few meters where i work, can anyone help me and tell me how to check the dc resistance?
