Some other Ibanez necks like the rg550 or the jem77 have a D shape neck like the center of the back is flat. Also thinner with pronounced shoulders. Jemjr is more like C shape and not as thin.

I have a fender player strat (2019 I think) Compared to that the jemjr is wider and thinner. Actually the wider part is helpful for chords up the neck and of course for tapping. However it's not obnoxiously thin like some other shred necks I've tried.

My favourite looking jem is way out of my reach : https://ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/JEM77_(Floral_Pattern) A "better" alternative to the jemjr is the RG550, I love the yellow version. Great value guitar, top quality. However I'm not very keen on it's pickups or slimmer neck.

An unexpected update: The Gotoh trem was not returning to pitch as well as I had hoped. So I removed it and checked the knife edges. This brand new trem had burrs on both kife edges that I could feel with my fingernails!! I lightly filed them and then polished with fret polishing rubber. Now...

The woods have all weird names but I love the feel and sound so I couldn't care less. This is a great fun guitar especially after the Gotoh upgrade! The pickups are staying on at least for a while.

Thanks for the responses! I'm no shredder and rhe neck is alien to me as well. My other guitars are a les paul and a strat. However it's not as thin as some other ibanez necks for example the rg 550.

Hey guys Got this beauty a couple of days ago. B-stock from thomann plus a gotoh 1996 trem (total equals the regular price, including a great trem). Didn't drill to use the gotoh posts, instead used schaller posts which fit the insert. A few hours of setup and fret polish and it now feels like...

For me for high gain tones (80s style) I would consider this amp unusable without the app. Even aside from that, the depth of control via the app is not even close to what you get on the amp's interface. eg for setting specific OD pedals, chorus and delay parameters, what the footswitch does etc etc

Definitely it would be better to have more access on the amp itself but that's probably a choice they made for lowering the cost. Frankly this amp does so much at this price point that I can't complain.

Even if it's faster to do it on the phone, I think it's better to store and backup your settings on PC. I might get the BT at some point for faster tone experiments.

That's impressive but it looks heavy! Also what about ventilation?

It is possible to add Bluetooth with an accessory but I don't have it. Using usb and PC as well. On board controls are very limited compared to the app.
