    OK, I'm increasingly confused but am now leaning towards a JB bridge/Jazz neck combo for a 335? Anybody have any clips of these pickups in these positions in a similar instrument, clean and slightly dirty/overdriven? Cheers.

    Hi. I believe my 79 335TD has T-Top pickups. To me, the sound of these isn't quite right: the lower strings sound kind of boomy on the neck pickup when clean, and the bridge pickup is a bit thin, especially clean (although it has a nice bite when overdriven).     59 set for a 335?

    OK, I've done some research, and am leaning towards a 59 set for my 79 335. Would this give me mellow from the neck and some crunch when I want it from the bridge?

    Pickup advice

    Hi. I've got a 1979 Gibson 335. The bridge pickup is more "country and western" than I'd like, so I'm looking for a bit more fatness and raunch, and I'd also like more sustain on the neck pickup, but with sweetness and clarity when played clean. Which SD pickups would you recommend? Thanks.
