    Alternative LP

So, I've learned I love the tone of a good LP over any other axe, but, IMO, they suk donkey balls when you play anything over the 12th fret. It's definitely do-able to play stuff over the 12th fret, but it's a major PITA (if you don't know the acronym, pm me). So, I'm thinking of getting a...

    $1500

So I'm gonna have about 15 bills to drop on a real metal axe hear in a few months. If you've followed my drunken rants, you'll know my rents got plowed into by some drunken jackass and they're about to get paid an ass ton of money, and rightfully so. They owe me money and told me they'd pay me...

    Feeler

So is anyone interested in an agile al2800 silverburst with a ZW emg set? I've come to the realization that LP's aren't for me anymore. It's got a huge neck and it makes my wrist hurt really bad after playing it for any length of time. I need to move it. I need to sell it as I'm GAS'ing real bad...

    I just realized something big

I'm no longer a big LP fan like I was for several yrs. I still enjoy playing them, but they just don't do it for me like they did. I cannot put my Carvin dc135 and 727 down. The necks are perfect for my hands. I love the tone of my LP's but my fretting hand cramps up and aches forever when I...

    stripping neck finish

Okay, so here's the deal. My number 1 these days is my carvin dc135 and I bought it as a young lad who didn't really know what he wanted, but I did it right except for the neck. I recently bought a dc727 with a tung oil neck and realized I really effed up on the dc135. I wanna strip the finish...

    swineshead pups?

http://www.swinesheadpickups.co.uk/default.htm So has anyone heard of these? I came across them on the sevenstring.org and they offer pups in the carvin route size, which is what caught my attention. They do some cool things, like wood covers and whatnot, but I have not idea how they sound.

    Bought a 7

So I finally gave in and pulled the trigger on a carvin dc727. I can't wait it's supposed to show up friday. It's deep triple step blue with a quilt top, ss frets, abalone inlays, FR, and it's mahogany. The plan is to swap out the stock pups for most likely some blackouts. Anyways, here's some pics:

A little premature, but what's new

So it looks like I'm getting a carvin dc727 later today which will be here in a few days if everything goes to plan. The guy is including some dimarzios that he never got around to putting in, I believe a blaze bridge and maybe norton neck. I've heard that the dc727 will accept dimarzios in a...

    To floyd or not

So as you guys may or may not know, my next guitar purchase with be a 7 string, probly a schecter. I'm torn between a blackjack atx with the blackouts or the Loomis sig with the OFR. How does the floyd take to different tunings? I know changing string gauge will wreak havoc on a floyd, but do...

    metal muff users

So I think I'm gonna get a MM with top boost pretty soon here. I wanted some of your opinions. From what I understand, the MM is not very much like the big muff or the other variants. What I wanted to know was how tight the distortion is on the MM. Will it handle drop tunings as low as A as well...

    WTB metal muff

I'm looking for one of the big ones with the top boost and all the knobs and whatnot. I'd like to put in in front of my orange with my ts9 boosting it and see what all the fuss is about.

7 stringers, I need some opinions

So after my last thread about what guitar I should get next for down tuned metal and Sanford suggesting a 7-string, I got to thinking. I talked to my guitar teacher a little about why he built his 7 string to bring to his band rehearsal in Tampa and he said he was having intonation probs with...

    F/S CIJ 57 RI strat

Well I've decided to part with my strat as it's not what I want right now. I don't dig the vintage frets and don't wanna molest such a nice guitar, so it's for sale. I don't have any pics yet, but I'll have some later today or tomorrow. Here's the details, 2-tone sunburst, maple neck/board...

    What should I get next?

So, I've kinda decided to sell my CIJ 57 RI strat b/c it's not really floatin my boat. I'd either have to get a new neck or re-fret it and I don't really wanna molest such a nice guitar. That, plus the fact that my carvin dc135 pretty much fits the strat role in my arsenal, makes me wanna ditch...

    Tube owners

Alright, I live in a non tube friendly household. I live at home with the rents and my mom is usually in bed by 8pm b/c the wakes up at 2 am for work (god knows why). I'm a total night owl that wakes up at 2 pm and goes to work at 4, so I rarely have a window to fire up the ole orange. In fact...
