I suffer from this "all time pickup changing" desease. Now I am a bit tired of changing pickups all the time and I would like to stick in a combination for a while :). The guitar I am talking about it is a home made axe. The specs are all mahogany body, set thru neck, ebony fingerboard, 25.5'...
The back track was made by Falstaff and the bass was added by KmcGuitars. It was supposed to be posted back then but somehow I forgot!!. I thought It could be nice to post it now.

It gets a bit lousy in the middle but I recover the feeling at the end... Don't be so critic...
I am planing to build my own pickup winder so I bought Jason Lollar's book. But a very stupid difficulty came when I finded out that the screw system it is different in the States than in Spain.
Can anyone tell my what a #8 or #6-32 screws are? What does it reffer to?
Thanks!
I have made a quite extrange experiment making two hybrid humbuckers from a Stag Mag and a 59neck. Since I have two pickups I have set them in the neck and bridge spots of the same guitar.
Results are quite interesting but I'll let you judge them. For me the sound it's quite interesting.

I guess things are never that simple but... They could be!!
I was thinking in the possibility of ussing a leftover speaker i have to do this. Removing the cone of the speaker I still would have the coil but but I don't have the remote idea it this it si going to work.
Any suggestion?
After searching the forum for info on this one (I didn't find any) I decide to post the question.
I have a 59/JB combo, I love the 59' but the JB it is a little too much for me. So, I though a good way to go was to make my own hybrid with both pickups. If that works for the 59 and the CC why It...
I am finding out in which way I can reduce the output of my ENGL 50 thunder combo (50watts). After thinking many options (mods, attenuators...) I decided that the speaker is the easiest part to be modified. My combo cames stock with a Celestion Silver Series V12-80 which has a 97dbs sensitivity...
Can you effectively reduce the output of your combo only changing the speaker? I know different speakers have different eficiences so in you replace one speaker with another with a smaller eficience it will need more Watts to achive the same volume. But will this be noticiable? Or, in the end...
Sometimes people talk about the song charts in SoundClick...
Can you tell me how to get there? I can't find it...
Is it possible to know if one of my recordings is in there?
Thanks!!
I am allways having funny ideas of how customize my gear. The last one was about the speaker of my Engl 50 Combo (50 Watts). It comes stock with a 12'' Celestion Silver Series. I know it isn't the best on earth but it sounds pretty decent. Anyway, thinking in replacing it, came the idea of...
At the moment I have a guitar loaded with two DiMarzio PAF classics. I like very much the tone of this alnicoII (wanabe, they use air technolgy) pickups. Think about them like an alnico pro or a Seth style of pickup. It isn't like they are bad but when I try duncans I allways have (much) better...
Does anybody knows how it compares to a Fender, a Marshall or any other amp?
I have this Engl combo and i really like it but I am curious how it differs or relates to other amps...
I was inspecting my Engl 50 thunder and I just find out it has a Celestion V12-80 (8 Ohm) Silver Series. I seems that it has been discontinued.
Does anybody have any info?
I have the intention of building my own vintage tube amp. As a good simple start I have choosen the 53' Fender Champ, a tone monster. I have some knowledge about this type of devices since I have studied physisc and I even have build a very simple amplifier in during my studies.
But my...
I should say that I already have one. It is a Engl 50 thunder (a combo with a 12'' speaker).
In a very unprecise way it is possible to describe an amp saying how it compares to a Fender, a Marshall or a Mesa-Bogie. Since I have never tried any of the previous I couldn't say if a Fender will be...
