Need to replace the stock pups on my Ibanez RGD321. For those who don`t know this guitar is 26.5" scale made for drop tunings and comes from factory tuned to drop D Standard. Give me some good ideas on a pup set that would be great for this guitar. Thanks!! PS...The stock pups aren`t bad but...

I know sandpaper right? lol But is that all there is to it or are there certain things i should know about? Like do i start with a heavy grit then work down to a fine,ect...? BTW this is a lightly satin finished headstock i`m going to be working with,not a thick glossy finish. Any help...

I think i remember reading that Basswood is warmer then Alder but not as much as Mahogany, is this correct or...?

A buddy of mine pulled the pg off his strat for the first time and noticed the pickups and electronics rout was not painted. (bare wood) Is this ok or should he do something to it? Thanks.

Strats are my fav guitars. Recentely i`ve been noticing that i`ve been attracted to weird/unconventional color combos of bodies and pickguards. For example Wood/Brown body with a Red Pearloid Pickguard, or Black body with Green pickguard, things like that. My wife thinks i`m crazy and those...

Thinking about changing pups in my Strat and i`ve always been interested in the Van Zandt`s. Think it may be time to give them a shot. Any opinions from VZ owners would be greatly appreciated. :thanks:

Recently bought a Bone pick (Pickboy) just to try and see if i liked it....i did,very much so in fact! I doubt i will use anything but Bone from now on,wish i would have tried one sooner. I play everything from Blues to Metal and it just works for me. Who else in here digs Bone picks?
