    pickup heights?

    i'm going to install some new sd's as soon as i get some tips from my previous post..is there a recommended height to adjust p/ups from the strings or is it a case of experimenting ?..playing an explorer pro but the set-up from gibson is poor to say the least.:yell:

    what p/ups for metal/rock (gary moore/dio etc)

    what would you suggest for classic rock/metal tones..i dig early gary moore(the metal years)..dio..whitesnake etc..currently using an explorer pro with gibson 498 and 500t's...they're .ok but pinch harmonics don't really jump out and they sound a little thin..thanks for any advice.:fingersx:
