I'm interested in adding a fullsize synthesizer to my arsenal. Ideally, I'd love to get an Alesis Andromeda, but that's a bit outside of my budget. Right now, I'm thinking about a Yamaha DX-7 Mk1 and a Sherman Filterbank2 (http://www.sherman.be/). Any other suggestions?

I've heard these rack units use the same IVL algorithms as the original Whammy (and I think the Whammy II?). Can anyone say for sure if the DHP/IPS-33 is basically the same as the original Whammy?
